Straight answers before you commit
You should understand the process, expectations and costs before you enroll.
It depends on your education, academic record, professional experience and intended certification area. The best way to know is to let ECAP evaluate your background.
That is expected. Your bachelor’s degree can be in any major if it is from an accredited institution and you meet the applicable requirements.
ECAP publishes minimum GPA requirements, but academic histories can be complicated. Contact ECAP for an individual review before ruling yourself out.
Timing depends on records, required tests, preparation and initial training. After reviewing your records, ECAP can give you a realistic plan.
No. You can apply, submit records and begin much of the process while working. Your internship begins after you accept a teacher-of-record position.
It costs $0 to apply. After you are accepted and enroll, the training fee is six monthly payments of $165. The internship program fee is ten monthly payments of $350 and does not begin until you are hired in an eligible teaching position. State certification, background-check and exam fees are separate. ECAP provides guidance, shares job fairs and introduces qualified candidates to districts. The internship fee does not start until you are hired.
Yes. ECAP consultants guide your application and plan. Once hired, an experienced teacher advisor supports you through classroom visits and practical feedback.
